N.J. State Trooper Wounded when Cars Struck by Gunfire

One suspect was arrested and authorities were searching for two others after gunfire struck unmarked New Jersey State Police vehicles in Paterson, wounding a trooper in the leg.

A New Jersey State Police trooper was shot in the leg early Thursday in Paterson, and police have arrested one suspect and are looking for two others, authorities said.
The incident occurred overnight in the area of 28th Street and 9th Avenue, according to Mayor Andre Sayegh. The name and condition of the trooper were not immediately available.
Sayegh said the trooper was taken to St. Joseph’s Regional Medical Center and two other troopers were taken to the emergency room for evaluation.
